MARRIAGE: Anne Womack; In a letter from Connie Ausec to Joyce Womack: "Ann Womack was married to Daniel Driskill." This fact is confirmed in a Bible in the possession of the descendants of William Driskill, son of Daniel and Ann.

Daniel Driskill was probably married thee times. It is possible that he first married a daughter of Thomas Watkins, then Ann Womack and then Agnes Hawkins. Daniel was included in the will of Thomas Watkins indicating that he was probably a son-in-law. Further research is needed to prove the marriage to a daughter of Thomas Watkins.
Daniel Driskell is named in the will of Thomas Watkins of Bedford County Virginia. The will is dated 25 November 1769 and was proved 26 July 1773. The entry concerning Daniel Driskell is as follows: To Daniel Driskell all the upper end of my survey of land which is to be patented by my executors that is all lying above a branch which makes into Falling River just above the Island ford. Note: This places Daniel in Bedford County, Virginia before 25 November 1769.
Daniel Driskill is listed on a Colonial Military Roster for Bedford County, Virginia which is a list of soldiers of Bedford County who were engaged in warefare with the Indians, French and British before the Declaration of Independance, as appears from Hening's Statutes at large and records of the County Court, and a few in the Revolutionary War. The records do not contain a complete list of those engaged in any war.(Historical Sketch - Bedford County Virginia 1752-1907, p37-38.)
Daniel Driskill proved to the satisfaction of the court that he served as a regular soldier in the year 1758 under General Forbes and that he never transfered his claim to any land which he might be entitled to for such service which is ordered to be certified to the register of the Land Office. Bedford County, Virginia Court Order Book #6, page 271, dated 28 Feb 1780.
Mary Holt (Mrs. Jon) of Sterling CO in researching the Holt family, copied some Holt data in a library in Cassville, Missouri in 1996, and in this history is Daniel and Agnes Driskill of Campbell Co., VA and neighbors of the Holt's. This history also mentions their son, Thomas T. Driskill, also William Mason (security for Alexander Womack's will) and two of his daughters, Judith Mason who married Leonard Holt and Susanna Mason who married Asa Holt. These people were on the tax list of 1810 in Campbell Co., Virginia.

Campbell County Virginia Court Orders Book 11 Page123 December Court 1813 A paper purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Daniel Driskill decd. produced in court and offered for probate and on the motion of David Driskill who contests the establishment, the same is continued until the next court. (NOTE: The continuation of this matter could not be found in the next or subsequent courts.)
Daniel Driskill fought in the French & Indian War under General Forbes (1758) and was a Revolutionary War Patriot.

ADDITIONAL: Several people have written to me indicating that the following are names of children born to Daniel Driskill and his three wives: William, John, David, Alexander, Allen, Joshua, Mahal, Peter, Thomas, Elizabeth, Obidiah, Ann (Anney)*, Daniel*, Adam*, Richard, Jeremiah, Sarah and Moses. There is no proof as to who the mother was of most of the children or exactly what the birth order was. (* Marriage Bond for Anney shows that Daniel Driskill paid the bond and Daniel Driskill and Adam Driskill were witnesses.)

Know Ye that in consideration of the amount compensation of 30 Schillings Sterling paid by Daniel Driskill into the Treasury of this Commonwealth there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said Daniel Driskill a certain tract or parcel of land containing three hundred acres by survey bearing date the twelfth day of April one thousand seven hundred and eighty as assignee of part of an entry made in the name of Thomas Watkins dated March the fifth one thousand seven hundred and fifty four for four hundred acres on the East side of Falling river beginning at his own corner three hundred acres of land situated in Bedford County on Falling river bounded as followeth to wit.
