This Driscoll family used the agnomen Kronikane (or Cronicane) and lived in Duneen, Ardfield, County Cork, Ireland. Hopefully DNA research will continue to carve out a Cronicane branch.

This tester is closely related to 47034272.

Cornelius "Corly" Driscoll and Honora Collins headed a related family that emigrated to Iowa with this family. The research to date:

Bridget Cashel

  1. John Driscoll b 1815 and Julia Hea b 1814 lived in Duneen and were the parents of Tim Driscoll b 1843, Margaret Driscoll b 1845, Denis Driscoll b. 1847, John Driscoll b. 1849, James Driscoll b. 1852 and Catherine Driscoll b. 1857.

John Driscoll immigrated with his relatives, Cornelius "Corly" Cronikane Driscoll's family to the U.S. in about 1867. They are all shown in the 1870 Clinton, Iowa census living together as close neighbors. John Driscoll's parents and siblings do not appear and may have stayed in Ireland or immigrated elsewhere.

The family lived on a farm called the Excelsior Cattle Farm in Early Iowa throughout the late 1800's. Upon retiring in 1905, John and Bridget moved to Omaha, NE where most of their children lived. John died in 1913 and Bridget went to Renville, MN to live with her youngest daughter Ellen. She died in 1925 and they are both buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Early Iowa next to the church John Driscoll helped found.
