R-CTS3386 descends from a parent haplogroup that spawns it as well as R- Z253, a parent haplogroup to L226 (the Dal Cais), and Z255, the Laigin (Leinster) people.

Project members falling in this haplogroup can join the R-CTS3386 haplogroup project.

A corrected SNP stream for these Driscolls is: R1b > DF13 > ZZ10 > CTS3386 > BY9000 > FT183061.

Through a genealogical paper trail, persons in this group state descent from Dennis of Kinsale (b.c. 1660).

Driscolls falling into this group are outliers to the Driscolls at large who have tested and are in the project. Driscolls have not yet been found in Ireland carrying this haplogroup. There isn't a lot of data yet, but SNP testers report British Isles ancestry, notably from Donegal, Scotland and Wales, as well as ancestry from Finland.
